Northern Shovelers. I love the huge bill! You can't tell from these pics, but the males have a green head, just a bit darker then a Mallard. I took the second pic last week during the -10 week. Now that the temp has been hovering in the upper 60's for the last couple of days I doubt much ice is left. Posted by Picasa

I think the duck is very much a good looking bird. Unlike those little brown finches later in your little photo blogging thingie that are what my friend El Guapo use to eat for breakfast. Oooh the bones. Now your blogs are looking very nice for one so young in the ways of blogging. Now go get your sisters to blog and you will have accomplished much young grasshopper.

Animals Crevice Spiny Lizard . The very distinctive neck band and tail bands made this one easy to identify. It was a fairly large lizard too. This was the only animal we saw that I got a photo of, but I did also see a Mountain Chickadee and White-Throated Swift (both birds).
